Education Function-26 and 62nd Saini Sansar magazine released
Saini Charitable Education Trust Distributes Scholarships Worth ₹12.22 Lakh
Saini Charitable Education Trust, Saini Bhawan Rupnagar organised Education Function-26 at Saini Bhawan on 4th Oct.,2026 and distributed scholarships worth ₹12.22 lakh to meritorious students and those in need of financial assistance.
The chief guest was Dinesh Chadha, MLA from the Rupnagar Assembly constituency. Special guests included Chandigarh-based transport entrepreneur Jaswinder Singh Longia; Municipal Council president Inderpal Singh Raju; Improvement Trust chairman Shiv Kumar Lalpura; Market Committee chairman Bhag Singh Madan.
A total of 121 students from various educational institutions received general scholarships worth ₹9.22 lakh. In addition, Tripatpal Singh, an MBA student at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Raipur, received a ₹3 lakh L.R. Mundra Memorial Scholarship for a second year to help him complete his studies. Students who won the speech competitions were also honoured with cash prizes.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Dinesh Chadha praised the Saini Charitable Education Trust and Saini Bhawan, Rupnagar, for their initiatives and contribution to social service. He said the organisation had earned a distinct place in society through its public welfare work. He congratulated its management and assured them of his continued support. He also stressed the need for students to adopt new technologies in education.
On the occasion, Gurinder Singh Rana donated five sewing machines to trainees who had completed training at the sewing and embroidery centre operating at Saini Bhawan, so they could start their own work.
Balbir Singh Saini, chairman, and Rajinder Saini, president of the Education Trust, along with Dr Ajmer Singh, chairman of Saini Bhawan, and Rajinder Singh Nannooa, president, gave a detailed account of the activities of Saini Bhawan and the Education Trust. They asked the MLA for ₹20 lakh to expand the hall at Saini Bhawan.
The Punjab Education Minister could not attend because of prior commitments. A citation for the minister was sent through Punjab Saini Welfare Board chairman Ram Mukari, following a recommendation by the MLA.
Certificates were also presented to trainees who had completed their courses at Saini Bhawan. Saini Bhawan senior vice-president Gurmukh Singh Saini, vice-president Ram Singh Saini and trustee Amarjit Singh also addressed the gathering. During the function Gurmukh Singh Saini donated ₹1 lakh to the Education Trust. Flight Lieutenant S.M. Singh donated ₹21,000, Zorawar Singh Bittu ₹11,000, and Harjit Singh Girn ₹10,000.
During the function 62nd issue of magazine SAINI SANSAR was released by special guest Chandigarh-based transport entrepreneur Jaswinder Singh Longia. He donated Rs.one lakh to Saini Bhawan & Saini Bhawan trustee Ram Singh Saini also donated Rs. 51 thousands to Saini Bhawan. Beside this a shooter student Arshdeep Kaur was also honoured who won Gold medal in World University Champion in Air Pistol Championship who belongs to Rupnagar.
Those present included Saini Welfare Board chairman Ram Kumar Mukari; Harjit Singh Longia; Senior Citizens Council president Surinder Singh Togad; Engineer Satpal Sharma; donor Avtar Singh Longia; Karamjit Singh Saini; Parminder Kaur; and Saini Bhawan trustees and managing committee members Captain Hakam Singh, Engineer Harjit Singh Saini, Dr Jaswant Kaur, Dr Harcharan Das Sair, advocate Ravinder Mundra, Rajinder Singh Girn, Bahadurjeet Singh, Harjit Singh Girn, Surinder Singh and Jagdev Singh. Real estate professional Surinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh of Mohali and Zorawar Singh Bittu were also present, among others.
