Saini Charitable Education Trust distributes scholarship worth Rs 5.69 lakh to 96 students

Sh. LR Mundra Memorial Scholarship given to Bhavika Saini of IISER Bhopal Saini Charitable Education Trust (Regd.) Rupnagar distributed scholarship of Rs. 5.69 lakh to 96 needy students to promote higher education during the annual education event-2024 organized at Saini Bhavan on 4th Oct., 2024.

Scholarship cheques were handed over to the students by Rupnagar MLA Adv. Dinesh Chadha. He congratulated the organisers of Saini Charitable Education Trust for doing this noble cause for the promotion of education among needy students to continue their study. MLA said that the Saini Bhavan deserved to be congratulated that it is also continuously striving to do public service work with this aim. He motivated the students to set a goal and work hard to fulfill their dreams. On the occasion the winners of the declamation competition held on October 3rd were also honored with cash prizes. Certificates were also distributed to those who completed the sewing and embroidery course of the institute. Rajinder Saini, President of Saini Charitable Education Trust welcomed the guests, students and dignitaries. Vice Chairman Dr. Ajmer Singh shared the details of the social services of Saini Bhavan and Chairman Balbir Singh explained in detail about the purpose of scholarships being given by the trust. On this occasion, Amarjit Singh, Secretary of the Trust, advised the scholarship recipients to improve their personality.

Gurmukh Singh Saini, former MC, made another contribution of Rs 50000/- for giving stipends, while he has already provided Rs 5.20 lakh. It is worth mentioning that trust provides scholarships to needy students every year since 2009. Scholarships are given from the interest money donated by donors to the trust for promotion of education among children belonging to weaker section of society. During this function 54th issue of quarterly magazine ‘SAINI SANSAR’ was also released.

Beside this Rs. 1.50 lakh cheque of Sh. L. R. Mundra Memorial Scholarship was handed over to Bhavika Saini, pursuing research in Earth and Environment Sciences at IISER Bhopal in 4th year in a specially called meeting of Trustees & Managing committee of Saini Bhawan on 10th Oct. 2024 at Saini Bhawan.
